The Saint Benedict medal, spread throughout the world more than 300 years ago, especially Benedictine monks, is famous for its extraordinary effectiveness in the fight against the devil and its manifestations; in defense against evils of all kinds, against diseases, especially contagious ones, against bites of snakes and other poisonous animals; in the protection of pets, vehicles, etc.

In 1830, at the convent of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul, in Paris, France, the Blessed Virgin appeared three times to a humble and pious novice, Sister Catherine Labouré. On all three occasions, Catherine saw the Blessed Virgin, received messages, and was treated with loving and maternal care.
